[The city is on fire and Anya flew into it on the back of a dragon.
Even for her, this is pretty weird.
Still, it doesn't seem to let up as her attire looks like it's straight out of an rpg - minus the fancy hat. Otherwise she definitely has knight armor stacked on top of her idol dress that she was wearing on the last day of con? Plus the sword. And a machete. And a rifle.
Don't ask.
For the final, ridiculous touch, there's the infantry of knights that she's commanding into battle - pointing and Russian works, for some reason. They defend her to make sure she doesn't get in over her head, but she's still keeping an eye out for any familiar faces on the battlefield. When she sees someone who even might share a slight resemblance to Mao, she perks up - ]

[ It's the hair, it makes him pretty easy to spot, but even if she hadn't seen him, it'd be hard to miss Anya. She stands out in a crowd on the most average of days but this is not an average day and certainly not an average crowd. Mao notices the knights first, but then they part, sent out with directions he can't quite hear from here, and standing behind them is a familiar figure. The weapons sure are a thing and her attire is kind of out of place but Mao's more interested in the fact that she's standing up wearing it.

[It was rare for Mao to miss something they had planned, but it was a little concerning when that did happen. After he waited at the coffee shop for an extra 15 minutes it was time for Ritsu to go to where he knew he could find Mao.

[It's hard to pull off that much of a surprise while texting Mao in anticipation as the minutes tick down, but dangit, Izumi's trying his best. It's a surefire way to make sure Mao is awake, for one, and it gives him something besides the slight chill in the air to concentrate on as he walks through the neighbourhood a few minutes before midnight.
He said he was going to be the first to say "happy birthday" once the date changed, and he wasn't kidding. It's probably a little awkward to be standing here outside Mao's window as the last two or three minutes pass, but he can only hope that nobody's going to think he's a stalker or something.]

[ Because the idea of Mao having a party without Sena is too much of a bummer, he instead finds the items when he gets home from school. The outfit is a dead giveaway as to who it's from--nobody else Mao knows can put together a look like that, at once something he immediately wants to wear but also not one he'd ever have chosen for himself.
He wants to save it for a special occasion--more special than this, it's just his birthday--but he does put it on long enough to send a picture to Mizuki. ]
